What is pump :
A pump is a device that moves liquids or gases, by mechanical action, typically converted from electrical energy into Hydraulic energy.
Operation of pump :
All pump have an inlet, casing and outlet.
During the operation liquids enter the inlet side of the pump. it's also called suction side. Pressure of the liquid is low at this point.
The purpose of the pump casing is to contain the liquid inside the pump during operation. The casing house is the internal part of the pump.
The liquid leaves the pump through the outlet. This side of the pump also called the discharge side. Pressure of the liquid is high at this point.
Inside the pump there is a component that physically moves the liquid through the pump. The type of component that's used to determine the type of pump.
Types of pump :
Basically pumps can be grouped into two general categories.
